Cranberry Juice - (My) Long Road to a Diagnosis of Vulva Disease

Stella suffers chronically from urinary tract problems, itching, burning, dryness, soreness, pain, tearing during sex. She runs unsuccessfully from one doctor to another, gets over-the-counter vaginal suppositories, fungal creams and expensive intimate washing gels from the pharmacy, and drinks gallons of cranberry juice. Without any real success. It wasn't until she came across the Lichen Sclerosus Association on the internet and it found her an expert doctor that she finally got a name for her years of complaints.

Cranberry Juice gives a voice and a face to thousands of women with vulvodynia, lichen sclerosus and lichen planus.

The semi-autobiographical short feature film by director Ani Novakovic and producer Kris Mechtlinger was co-financed by our association. In the course of 2022, Cranberry Juice was presented at various international short film festivals - partly thanks to financial support by members of the association - where it fortunately won numerous prizes and awards. The main actress, Xiting Shan, was in front of the camera for the first time and we congratulate her on this impressive performance.
